Summer Camp 2009- Tedbury Campsite Frome
47 cubs, leaders and ‘little Will’ aged 7 weeks descended on Tedbury Campsite near Frome for our summer camp.
The theme being wildlife we visited Longleat Safari Park – getting lost in the maze, meeting the lions up close and a hands on experience with a snake and spider.
Our traditional first day hike took us past quarries, over rivers, through fields of cows and up footpaths which don’t get used often by the size of the brambles and stinging nettles!
The activity day saw the cubs testing their archery skills and climbing on a mobile climbing tower. Cooking their own backwoods dinner, working towards the Map-reader badge and making a pompom animal made for a busy day.
The cubs had a great time thanks to a wonderful team of leaders. We all went home weary and tired at the end of our 2009 Summer Camp. Here’s looking forward to 2010.
